Green Pea Hummus

Hummus is a very delicious, healthy, high in protein vegan dip that is very popular in Middle east and Mediterranean region. It is a dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, sesame seed paste, olive oil and garlic.  I am sharing a hummus recipe where I added some blanched frozen green peas to make them extra healthy and flavourful. And I guarantee you will love this hummus to have.

Preparation time:15 min

Serves: 6

Difficulty level: Easy

  • 1 cup  boil Chick peas
  • 1/2 cup  frozen green Peas
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seed paste (tahini)
  • 2  Garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon  Olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Take frozen green peas, blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes and then drain.

Keep all the ingredients ready: boiled chick peas, blanched green peas, garlic cloves, olive oil and salt.

Place them all in a grinder along with sesame seed paste.

Add 1/2 cup of chick pea stock or drinking water and grind them to a thick paste.

Transfer to a serving bowl, top with some olive oil, boil chick peas and green peas.Serve as a dip with some salad or chips.
